My Makeup Transformation!

I read a post yesterday on Hannah’s blog that I found really inspiring — a no makeup FOTD! I must admit that I’ve been a little camera shy lately, and before yesterday I would have never even dreamed of  posting a picture of me completely bare faced on my blog! But then I thought, why the hell not?

Some ladies look absolutely stunning without makeup and others look like a completely different person… I am definitely the latter, but I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing. If you are fair like I am, with blonde eyelashes and thin eyebrows, then you too know the power of makeup!

I was going to wait a bit for my skin to clear up to do this post, but then I realized that would defeat the purpose. This is me baby… the good and the bad. I hope we can all start to love ourselves a little bit more everyday — with and without makeup!

Click the pictures to enlarge — you can look at them more like a slideshow this way!

BARE FACE

FOUNDATION

MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC15

Sigma F80

This foundation is very pale and my face doesn’t match the rest of the body — but I’ll fix that later! 🙂

CONCEALER

Maybelline Under Eye Concealer Dark Circle Eraser in Fair

Although I continue to use this product, I’m not completely in love with it…

EYEBROWS

Anastasia Brow Wiz in Ash Blonde
Maybelline Eyebrow Pencil in Blonde
MAC Omega Eyeshadow

MAC 266

I think this step is one of the most transformative… eyebrows are soooooo important! I envy all you gals with full brows!

I have been growing mine out for over 7 months and this is as good as they are getting. They are shaped very differently from one another, so I do the best I can to make them match and then move on. Sisters, not twins <3

EYESHADOW

MAC Painterly Paint Pot
MAC Naked Lunch — lid
MAC Malt — crease
MAC Vanilla — highlight

MAC 239
MAC 217

I wanted to go for an everyday look and this has been one of my favorites lately.

EYELINER

Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner in Black

MAC 210

Eyeliner makes such a huge impact on a look, but it is definitely the most time consuming — at least it is for me.

MASCARA

Cover Girl Lash Blast Volume in Brown

This is probably the last time I will be using this mascara until I repurchase it…  and sorry the picture is a bit fuzzy.

BRONZER

Benefit Hoola Bronzer

Real Techniques Blush Brush

I know this may look like a lot but it helps my face match the rest of my body… I wear SPF50 on my face when I’m outside so there is about a 2-3 shade difference I have to account for.

BLUSH

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Dollface

MAC 168

Sorry the lighting keeps changing… the sun kept peeking out from behind the clouds.

LIPS — LOOK COMPLETE!

MAC Angel Lipstick
Merle Norman Lipgoss in Gumdrop

I just thought it would be fun to show to the progression and how makeup transforms, step by step… hope you enjoyed!

What step in your makeup regimen makes the biggest difference?

I'm a firm believer in the transformative power of makeup, but I have to say you look gorgeous in your no makeup fotd pic!! I'm also very fair and feel like I need to put on my eyebrows and eyelashes before I leave the house, but your features are so gorgeous!

I'm loving your blog and this post was so inspiring! Just followed you on bloglovin 🙂

I see a change in the eyeliner step. However, your face is beautiful and I don't see such a big difference.. You are truly blessed! My face without make up is scary 😀

My friend told me about studio gel eyeliner, as she loved it so much. I love the thick but controlled line you've done, you look stunning!! Might actually have to go try it now. Thanks. Big fan of your blog too by the way. Love your photographs xxx

As far as the eyeliner goes (timewise), have you tried dipping a regular pencil in the gel liner, and then applying it, as opposed to an angled brush? To me, it makes a thicker line, but it does speed up the process. I use this method all the time for my waterlines. ~Sarah L.

I also meant to comment on your transition shade. I love the pic progression, because it shows how important this step is! In the pic without eyeliner and mascara, at first you might think, whoa, her shadow is up too high, but the finished product looks perfect. It took me a while to realize that when first working with my transitioning shades. You have to work it up high enough so that it frames the completed eyelashes. Great tutorial!! ~Sarah L.

You've soooo much braver than me, I hate anyone apart from hubby and son to see me without makeup, only go without it in a major emergency lol! You look great…Must do my eyelashes and eyebrows as I too am fair and I look ill without them.BTW Great makeup and great taste in music, love love love the t-shirt 😀 xx
